In 2009, thanks in part to the
participation of the Belgian Academy in Rome, the foreign students
taking part in 20eventi all hail from Belgium. In fact this time two
prestigious Belgian academies are involved as it seemed appropriate
that the country's two different language groups and cultures should
both be represented. . And, with two foreign academies taking part, it
was only right that students from two top Italian academies, one in
Rome and one in Milan, should join them.
The four participating
Academies are:
The Konionklijke Accademie voor Schone Kunsten in
Antwerp with artist-teachers Nadia Naveau and Vaast Colson
The Ecole
Superieure des Arts Saint-Luc from Liège with artist-teachers Jean
Janssis, Willy Welter and Michel Leonardi
The Accademia delle Belle
Arti from Rome, with artist-teachers Donato Bianco and Oriana Impei
The
Accademia Brera from Milan, with artist-teacher Mauro Folci
> Artists 2009
As in previous years,
Catherine Girault will be overseeing a whole range of activities in
local schools. She is putting together special “Valises pédagogiques”,
a collection of teaching tools for use in both nursery and primary
schools aimed at providing young children – and their families – with
hands-on experience of contemporary art through play. The same
reasoning lies behind the playground, created by artists, in Farfa
Abbey, where new work will join the various pieces created in past
years.
20eventi 2009 is being held between Saturday 23rd May and
Sunday 7th June and is based in Toffia, Bocchignano, at Farfa Abbey and
in Fara in Sabina.
On 28 May the “Academia Belgica” in Rome plays host
to a seminar on “The art of teaching Art”.
